Our story begins years before Brooke and Jamie were even born when two strapping young physicians, Dr. Jerry Frankel and Dr. Stephen Bendix, worked together (and became fast friends) as colleagues at Sinai Grace Hospital in Detroit.

The Bendix's and the Frankel's became fast family friends, sharing summer days at Wabeek Country Club (swimming and golfing), their kids going to school together, and sharing special celebrations such as Bar/Bat Mitzvahs!

From Lone Pine Elementary school to Andover High School, both Brooke and Jamie went to school together just two years apart and knew each other growing up (but were never really close friends). After graduation from Andover, Jamie moved away from Michigan to attend Oberlin, while Brooke went to MSU and ultimately landed in Chicago for almost a decade.

Jamie continued his travels throughout the world with moves to different cities, from Washington DC to San Francisco to Singapore to Seattle to Austin, Texas he lived all over the country, but it wasn't until a phone call from his best friend, Josh Grant, that sparked his interest in returning to his roots of his hometown of Detroit, MI!

One evening in May 2023 Josh Grant called up Brooke asking her if she was seeing anyone and insisting that she date Jamie because we both have many of the same interests and passions (even though he was living in Austin at the time). Brooke finally agreed to let Josh give Jamie her number to call her. After several weeks of endless texts and chatting, Jamie flew back to Michigan to visit and go out on a date with Brooke.

It didn't take more than a few dates for Jamie to decide that he was going to move back to Michigan permanently to be closer to his family and ultimately marry the girl who he just went out on a few dates with! They fell in love and eight months later they were engaged to be married and the best is yet to come....

The Bendix's and the Frankel's are thrilled!!
